Supporting healthy weight is obviously a very important goal. Obesity is objectively determined by calculating the Body Mass Index (BMI). Body Mass Index (BMI) is a person’s weight in kilograms divided by the square of height in meters. A high BMI can be an indicator of high body fatness. BMI can be used to screen for weight categories that may lead to health problems. A BMI Calculator may be used to determine your BMI. A BMI is not diagnostic of the body fatness or health of an individual. For example, an athlete may have increased weight due to muscles. However, most people have a pretty good idea of what their health is. Your physician may use your BMI and a physical evaluation to determine what your level of obesity is.
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) has a BMI Calculator that you can use.
For adults, a Normal BMI is 18.5 – 24.9. A BMI of 25.0 – 29.9 is classified as Overweight. A BMI of 30.0 and Above is classified as Obesity.
In addition to a healthy diet and exercise, many herbs have anti-obesity properties.
All the herbs used in GlucoQuench™ support healthy weight by one or more mechanisms, based on published medical and scientific literature.
GlucoQuench™ is a poly-herb formulation developed to support blood glucose health. Its therapeutic agents include extracts and standardized extracts from nine herbs: Gymnema sylvestre, Rehmannia glutinosa, Berberine HCl (from Berberis aristata), Eleutherococcus senticosus, Cinnamomum cassia, Lagerstroemia speciosa, Panax ginseng, Withania somnifera, & Rhodiola rosea.

Anti-Obesity Properties
All the herbs used in GlucoQuench™ have been documented as having Anti-Obesity properties. That includes Gymnema sylvestre, Rehmannia glutinosa, Berberine HCl (from Berberis aristata), Eleutherococcus senticosus, Cinnamomum cassia, Lagerstroemia speciosa, Panax ginseng, Withania somnifera, & Rhodiola rosea.

Decrease Ghrelin
On the date of this review, Rehmannia glutinosa is the only herb used in GlucoQuench™ that has been shown to suppress ghrelin, a hormone secreted by the stomach. Ghrelin is associated with increased hunger.

Increase Leptin Level or Leptin Function
Leptin is recognized as a “satiety hormone” that helps regulate caloric intake by inhibiting hunger. It is predominantly made by adipose cells and the small intestine. In obesity, a decreased sensitivity to leptin occurs (similar to insulin resistance) resulting in a decreased ability to detect satiety despite excessive adipose tissue and elevated leptin levels. Herbs used in GlucoQuench™ that have been shown to increase leptin level or leptin function include Rehmannia glutinosa, Berberine HCl (from Berberis aristata), Panax ginseng & Rhodiola rosea.

Decrease Cortisol Levels
Incresaed cortisol levels can result in increased blood sugar levels. Herbs used in GlucoQuench™ that have been shown to decrease cortisol levels function include Rehmannia glutinosa, Eleutherococcus senticosus, Panax ginseng, Withania somnifera, & Rhodiola rosea.
