Anticancer Actions of Bacopa monnieri

Anticancer actions of Bacopa monnieri by Joseph J Collins, RN, ND

Compounds in Bacopa can significantly inhibited human breast cancer cell line MDA-MB-231 adhesion, migration and invasion [1], thereby decreasing the growth, spread, and metastasis of breast cancer. Bacoside A, the active constituent of Bacopa monniera, can also be effective in preventing some forms of liver cancer [2]. Bacopa monniera extracts cause apoptosis (programmed cells death) of sarcomas in animal studies of cancer [3], [4].
